My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier is an adventurous book for middle schoolers. Tim always has looked up to his older brother Sam. Sam has enlisted in the Continental Army. Tim's father is tory which means he believes in the King of England. Tim goes through different adventures in the book. If you want to know hat happens, read the book. I think that My Brother Sam is Dead is a great book. It is very interesting and never loses the reader's attention.

Heart of A Champion
Carl Deuker
grades 6-9

This book about two boys named Seth and Jimmy who love the game of baseball. Jimmy is a great shortstop, while Seth plays second base. Seth and Jimmy practice hard with Jimmy's father by having him hit grounders to them almost everyday after school. Jimmy's father would do this until one day when something happens. The day comes when Seth and Jimmy go to tryouts to see which little league team they're going to be put on. While Seth is very nervous when they are taking grounders, Jimmy is as calm as he can be.

I think that the book Tangerine was a horrible book because it was a not my type of book. It was about a boy that was a soccer player. Even though it was a soccer book it was a bad book.

Heyy,
im a big reader, but one of my all time favorite books are What is the What by Dave Eggers. What is the What is a biography about Valentino Achak Deng. He is one of the lost boys of sudan and this book is his story about how the people he met, the stories he heard and the places he saw while trying to survive the baggarra, SPLA and rebels in his country. If you do not like heavy books with multiple saddening events then dont read it but it really puts perspective on your own life.

I think "I am the cheese" is a pretty good book, but a little confusing. Once you figure out the style of Robert Cormier in "I am the Cheese", you'll understand it more.

Out of all of the books that I have read in my life, "Surviving the Applewhites" is one of the most humerus books. It is about a boy named Jake Semple that has been kicked out of every school in his home state. There is only one school that will take him. It is the Applewhite's school of art. In this school you must do art every day. Desperate to get rid of Jake, his grandfather sends him. Jake believes that it will be a breeze to get out of this one. That is until he meets E.D. E.D is the only one in the Applewhite family without any artistic talent. This book shows how a devil boy clashes with a fiesty girl and how he reacts. During his time in this school, he notices how bad he actually is and how he wants to be better behaved. If you read this book you will find out the end. I reccomend this book for ages 10 and up.

Hey,
So in Mrs. Shneibaum class we are reading a wonderful book called "The Giver" by Louis Lowry. In this book, a boy named Jonas lives in an extremely protected community. In this community everything is the same. There are no hills, because everything is flat. There is no temperature. At age twelve every child in the community is assigned a job that he or she will do until they grow old. When it is Jonas's turn to be assigned a job, the Chief tells him that he was chosen not assigned. It turns out that Jonas was chosen to the "Reciver of Memory". He meets up with "The Giver" and is told many of the most sacred secrets of the community. You have to read the book to find out more!! Reccomended for ages 10 and up.
